What I like, this spring…
March was a difficult month personally. I faced some challenging times. Both my father and my step father had difficult times. Having taken Dad with us for a short stay I was harshly made aware of just how much time, care and attention it is necessary to live with him. His dementia is getting worse, and we have taken some measures to help with that. Then Dan, my stepfather fell again, after his 92nd birthday March 16th. I have a new found respect, for my mother and step mom. And if that was what came positive with this experience it was well worth it.
On the writing front, I did make the finalist for the MARA Fiction from the Heartland contest. I am one of three. Fingers crossed. I also took a trip to a local author signing in Blue Springs last weekend. There I met a writer/public speaker who I am happy to say is my newest obsession,
. She talks of living your life authentically and I am all about that. More about her later.I have to start editing my dystopian, romance…Keeper of the Pages. That is a process I need to address, and one I have been putting off. I get great satisfaction in typing THE END on any of my projects. And as writers, we should know that is only the first of many steps to publication.
I am currently working on a post for The Authentic Style Community that I am a part of.
and the staff at (Lady Bird) helped to change my life when I turned 60.(5 years ago). It is never too late to be who you are most comfortable being. I will try posting some of my favorite style discoveries on Sub Stack as well.I am eager to embrace spring this year and mow my lawns. I love riding my electric ride on mower. The roses have green leaves and are anxious to bud soon. I haven’t killed those yet, and as I do NOT have a green thumb it surprises me every season.
What I am reading… I finished Emma’s Hero, (5 STARS) by Carrie Walker and am beginning to read Hazel Krebs book, Enthusiastically Me after meeting her I can’t wait to dig into her story. The most classy thing I found, when reading the forward, was how she told the reader if suicide, or dark times are something you do not want to face please begin her book on Chapter 2…. Now that is just the sweetest way to address the hard issues. It also shows how caring Hazel is to make certain her readers are caring for themselves. I found her here on SubStack, and with only a couple of interactions, I think you would be smitten with her as well.
Continue to BLOOM where you are planted… And become your FANTABULOUS, selves! Diana
