Refilling your well
Our lives are spent doing for others volunteering favors for the ones in our lives. It is good that we are not alone. It is wonderful if you can be so generous with your time. But sometimes… we get so involved that we lose ourselves. We can’t DO anymore.
It is hard to say no.
But when we feel depleted it is imperative that we refill the well. We can only give so much before we feel depleted, drained or exhausted. It is in those times (even before) that we must do something for ourselves.
TAKE A MOMENT
Do something for the joy of it. This will replenish our reserve of strength and spirit. It also needs to be a deliberate action for yourself, not for others. (Though other people benefit when you have new energy and a better attitude toward life.)
What can you do for you? How do you fill your well? Some ideas I enjoy:
Take a bubble bath
Cuddle with the pooch
Go to bed early to read
Write in journal
Try a new recipe (chicken tiki marsala, paella)
Go for a walk
Take a nap.
Coloring
Do a puzzle
Do a craft or something creative.

Get a pedicure, paint a wall, more new recipes, visit a new thrift store.
