I wore pink to meet
for coffee yesterday. If you knew Hazel you’d wear pink too. Its contagious. What I left with was insight. I asked how to get past writers block? Her answer was, “Return to your list of goals.”
That made me come full stop.
DID I even have goals for writing? I had one for exercise, food intake and weekly to do lists.
I immediately thought of… if I failed to plan, I would be planning to fail…
I have a million ideas when it comes to writing. But often I never stop long enough on any one project to define goals. I end up chasing the next idea before finishing the current one, often claiming writers block. I think I just don’t want to do the hard work. I need to fix this.
Yes writers block of course will happen. But without specific, measurable achievable, relevant or time-bound goals for my writing. »»»»»»»»»Goggle (SMART) goals here…I was just treated my writing as a hobby.
(Not an excuse, but….)
I do have a day job, or rather a 12 hour-a-day time suck to pay the bills routine. Somewhere in the back of my mind, or hidden in a corner, I told myself I’d be a real writer after I retired.
How dare I?
So I wanted to thank HAZEL for taking time out of her schedule to talk and encourage me. My small offering? I wrote an Anagram for the title of her book.

How this Trans woman can stay so positive in the world as it is right now shows there is hope for all of us. ( if we choose to see it! ) Read her book, hear her speak, and support her mission. Bring Joy and positivity to the world.
It’s contagious!

We hear all the time we are allies… we support others. Do we, Do you? When was the last time you actually did something for a Trans person, a LGBTQ+ person or gender-identifying different human? It is almost June, which here in KC is PRIDE month… I plan on doing more than just flying my flag this year… how about you?
Thank you for the mention, Diana!
